Okay so some desserts are made from scratch. Every ingredient is lovingly prepared. This Better Than Anything Cake, looks amazing and no doubt tastes amazing, and you don't need to be an experienced baker or have alot of fancy kitchen tools to pull this one off. Everything in the recipe is found on the shelves of your grocery store. A cake mix,can of sweetened condensed milk, jar of caramel topping, candy bars and cool whip.
Cool whip is an ingredient that became very popular in the 1960's. Housewives were making fluffy desserts for their families as easy as 1-2-3. Hard to resist. It is sweet, light and fluffy and until recently was even dairy-free. Because there is a lot of buzz around just how good or bad cool whip is for humans to consuming we leave it up to you if you wish to use it in the dessert or you can also take this fabulous recipe and just substitute stabilized whipped cream or even a vegan form of creamy thick whip for the coolwhip. To make a vegan version, just chill 2 (14oz) cans of full-fat coconut milk in the refrigerator overnight, then use an electric mixer to beat it with 1/2 cup confectioners sugar. The result is a delicious whipped food that is a perfect substitution for those that like the coconut flavor.
If you prefer to make a stabilized whipped cream, you just take 2 teaspoons of unflavored gelatin, place it in a small saucepan with 8 teaspoons of cold water, heat over low until the gelatin dissolves then remove from heat and whip the gelatin slowly into 2 cups heavy whipping cream and 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar. That is all there is to making your whipping cream hold its density longer for some of these desert ideas. You would just need to substitute the amount called for in this amazing dessert that you can find by visiting the 'Chef In Training' website below.
