14 Foods You Should NEVER Eat

This one is worth the read though because your body is your temple and to live a long and healthy life, which also is more likely to be a happy life, one has to be very mindful of what is put into the body. With heavy dollars being spent on mass marketing of junk food it is easy to get confused and eventually just give up trying to understand what is healthy and what is not. There are certain foods on the market that should be avoided at all costs. Of course, don't beat yourself up over it if you have eaten it in the past because worry and stress are far more dangerous than any food you may have eaten, but moving forward, try to avoid these foods.

1. Swordfish.

The problem with swordfish is the high mercury content. Mercury can be dangerous as it is a neurotoxin (which means a brain toxin), and has been believed to damage the development of children's brains and even cause heart attacks in adults. Another reason not to eat this fish is that the fishing practices can in turn catch turtles, seabirds and

sharks which end up just going to waste.

2. Strawberries that are not organic.

In the film, Food Inc., we learn that strawberries that are not organic are so high in pesticides that one should not even give one single strawberry to a small child. This food is on the dirty dozen list and you should always look for organic strawberries or even grow your own. When you are out for dinner, start asking the managers before you leave to offer more organic choices on their menu so you can enjoy your eating out experience.

3. Diet Soda.

These drinks are packed with artificial sweeteners such as sucralose, aspartame, acesulfame K, and neotame, among others. There is such controversy around artificial sweeteners that they are not worth the trouble. Not only that, they are even being linked to cancers and other scary diseases. The part that is the saddest is that often diabetics are told to drink these, which are so low in nutrients that they end up making people worse than they started.

4. Canned Tomatoes

Most canned tomatoes are put into a can that contains bisphenol-A (BPA) which is a man made (synthetic) estrogen that is now showing up research linked to heart disease, diabetes and obesity. An easy solution to this is to look for canned tomatoes found in a glass bottle, which are readily available in most stores and often not even much more expensive.
